Gordon "G.W." Wesley Millspaugh's Obituary
Gordon Wesley Millspaugh passed from this life October 17th, 2021. He was born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma on December 23rd, 1927, to Nellie Grace Caskie and Walter B Millspaugh. GW, as he was always called, then moved across the state with his family as his father worked for the Works Progress Administration.
GW attended Will Rogers Highschool in Tulsa, while living in the small community of Dawson, where he helped his father build houses. During World War II, he served in the Navy as a patternmaker, making the parts to repair ships.
After returning from the war, he married Nadine Frankum, and they raised four boys in Tulsa, and later Sand Springs. After a 38-year career at American Airlines, he retired as a crew chief in June of 1990.
Throughout his life, GW played music, starting out in church with his father, then later in venues across Oklahoma, often performing with his wife, Nadine, to the delight of live and radio audiences. GW was preceded in death by Nadine after 45 years of marriage.
In his retirement, he then married Etta Frankum, creating a large, blended family. For over 25 years, his life with Etta revolved around their shared passion for genealogy, fishing on lake Oolagah, woodworking, and the friends and family with whom he continued to perform live music.
GW was also preceded in death by his son, David. He is survived by his wife - Etta, his sons – Jim, Roger and Danny, his stepchildren - Fred Russell, Debbie Landry and Kate Buckley, as well as their numerous decendents.
