Gordon Pierce Hart's Obituary
Gordon Pierce Hart, 77, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, beloved husband of Mary for 54 years, passed away Friday, January 23, 2015, at his home. Gordon was born on May 12, 1937 in Altus, Ok. He grew up in Anadarko, OK, graduating in 1955. He studied at Oklahoma State University, where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity, graduating with a BS in Business Administration. He completed a Master of Arts in Teaching at Oklahoma City University. His career was in marketing communications. He was a Certified Business Communicator. He retired as a Commander in the Navy Reserve in 1989, after 22 years of service. Gordon is survived by his wife Mary (Rodgers), daughter Lisa (Hart) Raiber and her husband Michael Raiber, of Norman, son Brian Hart and his wife Lorianne, of Tulsa, and daughter Lori (Hart) Clark and her husband Tracy, of Owasso. Gordon took great delight in his grandchildren and great grandchildren: Erin and Olivia Raiber; Taylor and his wife Scout, Spencer, Hunter and Savannah Hart; Steven Way and his wife Ashley, Austin and Dakota Clark and Harper Hart and Athene and David Sample. Gordon is also survived by his brothers Ira D. Hart Jr. of Lawton, OK and Joe Hart of Broken Arrow, OK and sisters Carole (Hart) McCarthy of Carrollton, TX and Julane (Hart) Taylor of Wasilla, AK and many dear nephews and nieces who loved Uncle Gordon dearly. He was predeceased by his parents Ira D. Hart, Sr. and Wilma (McBride) Hart, sister Pauletta (Hart) Wilson and brother Allen “Mac” Hart. He was much loved by his big family. Gordon cherished spending time with family and going to his grandkids’ sporting events, concerts and recitals. He loved sailing and traveling with Mary. He could often be found tinkering with something in the garage, trying to fix it instead of buying a new one. He was a huge fan of Oklahoma State University. Services will be held at Park Plaza Church of Christ Chapel, 5925 E. 51st Street, Tulsa, Ok, 74135 on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.
