Gordon M. Pendergraft's Obituary
Gordon Monroe Pendergraft, 83 of Bixby, Oklahoma passed from this life peacefully, on Saturday, April 29, 2023, after celebrating his 83rd birthday with his siblings, children, and grandchildren. He was born on April 29th, 1940, in Springdale, Arkansas to his parents, Travis Rowan Pendergraft and Nancy Ann (West) Pendergraft. Gordon enlisted in the Air Force at age 17 and after his service, settled in Kansas where he became a successful entrepreneur and started several successful businesses ranging from manufacturing to restaurants. He eventually relocated his businesses to Oklahoma. Gordon loved life and was known for his generosity and willingness to help others. His legacy will live on through his family, friends, and the many lives he touched throughout his lifetime.
Gordon is survived by his three loving children, Steve Pendergraft and his wife Rhonda of Wichita, Kansas, Shannon Glenn and her husband Ron of Bixby, Oklahoma and Crystal Anglin and her husband Josh of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four siblings, Aureta Mitchell and her husband Al of Fort Worth, Texas, John Pendergraft and his wife Sharon of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Nancy Davis and her husband Terry of Jenks, Oklahoma and Kathy Chamberlain of Wagoner, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Rowan, Brayden, Clayton, Kaylee, Brody, Graham, Gavin, Oliver and Blaire; extended family members as well as many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Travis and Nancy; one son, Michael Pendergraft; three siblings, Patricia Chapin, Gary Pendergraft and Travis Pendergraft; and his special fur baby, Zoey.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Floral Haven's Funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, to honor Gordon's legacy of generosity and love for children, his family has established the "Gordon’s Christmas for Kids Memorial Fund" The fund will benefit underprivileged children during the holiday season. Donations can be made at the service or by contacting the family directly. Thank you for your support.
