Gracie Rosalie Mitchell, born Wednesday, August 29, 1934 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to her loving parents Walter & Grace Thomsen; went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 1, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma with her loving family by her side. Gracie has been a lifelong resident of the Tulsa area; marrying the love of her life in January 1965, they settled down in Tulsa and started their family. Gracie worked as an administrative assistant for Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance company for many years before her retirement but found other jobs to stay busy that always brought her joy; especially when it was a job that she could use her great gift of her huge heart and take care of others and make sure they were happy. The greatest joy Gracie found in work was making others happy and putting someone else’s needs before her own. Gracie’s huge heart was also seen in her love for animals especially for stray dogs; bringing them in and even finding good homes for them. In her free time what Gracie loved more than anything was to spend time with her family that she adored especially her grandson Jackson. Fond memories will always be cherished of Gracie as she will be deeply missed by all that had their lives touched by her. Gracie is preceded in death by her beloved husband of forty-six years, Charles Robert Mitchell Sr.; her loving son, Mason Mitchell; her loving parents, Walter & Grace Thomsen and her dear sister-in-law, Cathy Mitchell.
