Gregory Paul Nelson, a man whose passion for computers and his dedication to his work at Tinker Air Force Base touched the lives of many, peacefully passed away on September 22, 2023, at the age of 69. He was born on September 28, 1953, to proud parents Jesse G. Nelson Jr. and Irene Lucille Nelson.
Gregory's lifelong love affair with computers was evident to all who knew him. He possessed an innate talent for understanding the inner workings of these machines, which led him to a fulfilling career as a small computer repairman at Tinker Air Force Base. His expertise and commitment to his work earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike.
Outside of his professional life, Gregory was a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism, where he found a community that shared his passion for history and reenactment. Through this group, he formed lasting friendships and experienced the joy of connecting with others who shared his enthusiasm for a bygone era.
Gregory is survived by his loving sister, Wanette Pauly, and her husband, John; his brother, Jesse Nelson; and his cherished nieces and great-nieces and nephews: Sarah Bey and her husband Gabbor, Katlin Wetzel, Mason Wetzel, Stella Bey, and Scarlet Bey. Gregory's warm and caring nature endeared him to his family, and his presence brought immeasurable joy to their lives.
In the hearts of those who knew him, Gregory will forever be remembered for his kind spirit, his unwavering dedication to his work, and his love for the intricate world of computers. His legacy lives on in the memories of his family and the countless friends who had the privilege of knowing him.
