Greta Lee Hart, 92, a resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on December 22, 2022. Greta was born on June 15, 1930, in Springfield, Ohio to James and Margaretta Kyle. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma and was a member of the Tri-Delta Sorority, and would continue to participate in activities throughout her life. Greta was a Shaklee distributor for 50 years and had a very good sense of business and finance, endeavoring to be accurate to the penny in all dealings whether in business or with friends. She believed strongly in nutrition, health, and wellness. She was very passionate about healthy eating, supplements, and lifestyle. She actively participated in yoga at the Y.
Greta also enjoyed games and puzzles; she was an avid bridge player and loved playing with friends on a regular basis. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, especially completing them with friends. She believed that playing the different games kept her mind sharp; especially crosswords and playing sudoku.
Greta had a great love for nature and spending time outdoors. She loved feeding birds in her backyard, and faithfully did so every day. She enjoyed every opportunity she had to travel. Some of her favorite trips included, visiting Eureka Springs, AR, and Branson, MO. She also loved visiting her sons and grandchildren around the country. She and Bill traveled to Europe and visited many places from Bill's WWII personal history, including Normandy Beach.
Greta was a truly devoted Christian, dedicated to welcoming people to church, and to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She was a long-time member of Christian Chapel in Tulsa. She would often open and welcome her own home for people in need of fellowship. She helped lead Child Evangelism Fellowship; the "Good News Club" neighborhood clubs for boys and girls; and she Annually volunteered to serve at Camp Good News summer camp.
Greta sang in choir with the Hyechka Club of Tulsa (founded in 1904) for many years. She and her husband Bill were avid two-step dance fans. She was also known for her artistic skills. She met her husband Bill Hart through the Art Club of Tulsa. The couple annually sold Bill's watercolor paintings at Art on the Square in Utica Square.
Greta will always be remembered for her stoic, yet feisty personality. She was loyal and faithful to her family, friends, and church. She was always generous, open, and kind to everyone she met. She had a great and joyful spirit, and was always grateful for even the smallest things; always looking forward to what is next, and ready to participate in what would be beneficial to the world. If friends or family stopped by; even unannounced, she would graciously open her door and welcome you with open arms; she was just so happy if you stopped by for any reason! She will truly be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
