Place,- Gwendolyn Lucille,born on August 26, 1922 in Port Arthur, Texas. She passed away on June 22, 2003 in Tulsa at the age of 80 years. She was the elder daughter of Pete and Mildred Johnson and grew up in the Texas gulf coast town of Port Arthur before attending college at North Texas State University in Denton, Texas. Upon graduation in January 1943 she taught elementary education in Port Arthur Public School System. In July 1947, following the end of the war she moved with her husband and son to Tulsa where she had a daughter and another son. She then continued her teaching career with the Tulsa Public School System from 1963 until 1987 when she retired.A memorial service will be held on June 25, 2003 at 12:30 p.m. at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Saint Simeon’s Episcopal Home, 3701 North Cincinnati, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74106Survived By: Husband:Brad, Daughter: Mary Kay of Los Angeles, CA., Sons: Brad Jr. of Denver, CO., Ken of Tulsa, OK., Grandchildren:Jennifer,Claire,Jess, and Emma, Great Grandchildren: Sage and Uriah, Sister: Marjorie Moore, Niece: Leanne Moore-Hassalevris, Brother In Law: Lee F.
