Harlan Troy Carlile's Obituary
Harlan Troy Carlile was born in Spiro, Ok along with twin brother, Roy to Garland L and Vida Defoor Carlile. Raised in Spiro until the age of 18 and joined the Navy in
1956. After Navy obligations, lived in Virginia Beach, Va. for 14 years. He moved to Broken Arrow, OK in 1971 with his family. He worked in home improvements for 35 years and worked in real estate for 45 years, buying and selling homes. He was proceeded in death by his father, Garland Carlile, in 1945 leaving Vida with 6 children, mother, Vida Carlile-Scarberry, brothers, Burl, Earl & wife Mabel, James & wife Barbara, and Joe. Niece, Shelly Elaine Carlile.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie L Carlile, sons Harlan Carlile and grandsons Darren & Blake of Lumberton NC, Daughter, Shannon & husband Brian Dugan of Claremore OK. He is survived by brother Carl Scarberry, sister Mary of Spiro. Step Daughters, Connie & husband Chris Maimbourg, Christine & husband Jeff Hadley, Stepson, Chris & wife, Jennifer West. Grand children, Kelsey & Gage West, Kyle Butterworth, Xavier Hadley, Brandon, Logan Madelyn, Allison, Ryan West, Trevet Spivey, Haven Maimbourg.
He is survived by nephews, David & Greg Carlile, of Fla. Kevin & Cris Carle of Broken Arrow, Gordon Carlile of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Wife, Jeannie Carlile, Jackie Don Carlile of Spiro.' Nieces, Bebbie & Keith Poole of Polo ILL, Donna Kay & Mike Beam of Pocola, Ok Kathy & husband Kenneth McCormick of DeQueen ARK. Troy is survived by many great grandchildren, and Cousins.
Troy enjoyed researching genealogy and made many contacts with relatives throughout the United States. He enjoyed traveling and meeting new relatives, from the east coast to the western states catching up on family ties and friends.
Troy enjoyed following the St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He followed the Cardinals from the age of 9 until his passing. He loved the times that the Cardinals win several World Series and feeling sad when they lost the World Series. His favorite player was Stan Musial and named his son after him. He followed the Duke Blue Devils of North Carolina in basketball and Old Dominion sports, his college school.
Troy loved several sports and visited several cities to watch sports.
Troy loved to travel and visit different countries and throughout the United States, traveling into the Southeast, Northeast, North, Northwest, West and Southwest part of the states with Vickie.
Troy's love for service men & women as he worked for 14 years in Norfolk, Va.
Inviting the off the street to go to church and see them accept Christ as their Savior and seeing them grow in the Lord and some going on to college to become pastors and teachers. His greatest love was for the Navy as he had 7 brothers, and 1 sister joined the Navy.
Troy Love for western history allowed him to travel over the western part of the United States, visiting the Southwest into Tombstone Az. New Mexico and Ft.
Sumner and Silver City where Geronimo surrendered, the Alamo, El Paso, Into the Black Hills of South Dakota, Deadwood, Devil Tower in Wy. Visited Badlands of SD and ND and Battle of Little Big Horn, Pompay Rock, where William Clark autographed the sandstone rock. Cody Wy, Yellowstone Park, Jackson Wy, Washington State, Oregon and into Calif, visiting Wyatt Earp grave, Utah, Colorado visiting William "Buffalo Bill" Cody and Ft Bent.
Troy reads a lot of western magazines and books of the old west and western history.
