Harlan George Joseph's Obituary
Harlan George Joseph, 89, passed from this life on May 4, 2012 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. George was born on September 12, 1922 in Edwardsville, Illinois to George Cleveland and Blanch (Drique) Joseph. He graduated Edwardsville High School and attended Illinois Wesleyan University and Bradley University. George graduated from Caterpillar Tractor’s Cast Metal School. He was a member of Sigma Chi and American Foundryman’s Society. George served in the U.S. Coast Guard in WWII and spent two years in the South Pacific aboard the USS Capps. He met and married Betty Jane Hunt on December 24, 1948. He is survived by his wife of 61 years,Betty Joseph; children, Gregory Miles Joseph, Thomas George Joseph, and Beverly Lahn; grandchildren, Jennifer Fennell, Jonathan Joseph, Jared Joseph, Adam Joseph, Kristen Mashburn, and Kevin Lahn; great grandchildren, Jeana Lyn Fennell, Jillian Dawn Fennell, Scott Isaak Joseph, and Claire Jean Joseph; and sister, Vivian Hamlin. George was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to Southern Hills Baptist Church, 5590 S. Lewis Ave, Tulsa, OK 74105. Visitation will be 8:30 AM to 9:00 PM Monday, May 7, 2012 at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 12:30 PM Tuesday, May 8, 2012 Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
