“Uncle” Harold was kind of a jokester and kind of a “Happy Go Lucky” person. Dad always said Harold was very smart and learned quickly.
When I was very young (I believe Harold was just back from the Army) I was at “PaPa and Granny’s” house which was just down the road from our house, and Harold was chasing me around the house saying that he was going to cut my ears off. I went running to Granny and told her, expecting that she would reprimand him, but without stopping what she was doing, she just said “Oh, that old knife of his is so dull it wouldn’t cut anything”.
There are several other special memories, but the things I remember most are the frequent weekend visits that “Harold and Mary” made to “PaPa and Granny’s”. Some of my brothers and I would usually go there too and play cards or other games and visit in the evenings. During the day we would go swimming at the “Blue Hole” or go hunting and fishing.
There are many wonderful memories. He will be missed.
