Harold Leroy Fortney's Obituary
Fortney, Harold Leroy “Bull” 95, Retired Tulsa Fire Captain passed away January 16, 2005. He was born on July 27, 1909 in Sapulpa, OK. to parents Harvey and Mary. He worked in the oil fields as a teen with his father, and then at the Chapman-Barnard ranch in Pawhuska before becoming a Tulsa Fire Fighter in 1936. He enjoyed his many years of service on the fire department, retiring in 1971. He stayed very active and enjoyed visiting his friends at station #22, and attending the retired fireman functions. He was also a member of Tulsa Sertoma Club. The Family would like to express our sincere gratitude to St. Francis Hospice, especially our nurse, Francis Scriminger.Survived By: Grandaughter Nan Andrews and husband Phillip of Catoosa, grandsons Terry Fortney and wife Tammy of Pawhuska, Leonard and Royalena of Tulsa; Chris and wife Jo of Tulsa. Six great-grandchildren, beloved nieces and nephews, and a host of good friends.
