Harold Murphy Jones' Obituary
Harold “Murphy” Jones, 85, of Broken Arrow, OK, passed away Friday, October 2, 2015, on his farm at the Double M Ranch. A celebration of life service will be held at 12:30 pm, Thursday, October 8th at Floral Haven, 6500 S 129th E Ave, Broken Arrow, OK. Reverend Phil Taylor will be officiating. Friends may visit from 2:00 until 8:00 pm, Wednesday at Floral Haven. Murphy was born March 25, 1930 in Broken Arrow, OK to Arlis and Nola (Dickens) Jones. He completed 7 years of school and at 13 years of age, he left home to find his own way in Tulsa, OK. There he met the love of his life and married Martha Eulene Long on June 12, 1950. He went on to start his own business, Murphy Jones Moving Company. He was an avid gardener and spent every moment he could with his hands in the sandy soil on his farm. But, more than anything, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Murphy is survived by his wife of 65 years, Martha Jones, Broken Arrow, and their eight children, Harolyn Bean and her husband Bob, Randy Jones and his wife Annette, Murphy Neal Jones, Chris Jones and his wife Brenda, Marci Hamilton and her husband Robert, Stacey Jones and spouse David Rogers, Julie Cosper and her husband Neil, and Scott Jones, all of greater Tulsa; 12 grandchildren, Jennifer Bean, Courtney Rodriguez, Natalie Fernandez, Stephanie Steward, Jeremy Jones, Amy Conatzer, Amanda Dotson, Chris Jones II, Colton Maynard, Preston Maynard, and Cody Cosper; 18 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
