Harold Ray "Sonny" Cash Jr's Obituary
Sonny was born on September 1st, 1942 to Harold R. Cash Sr. and Mildred Ruth ( Hensley) Cash in Tulsa, Ok. Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Sr. and Mildred Cash, one brother, Allen Ray, one sister Billie Arlene ( Grubb) Emerson and one son, Benjamin Ray Cash. Sonny is survived by his wife Michelle Cash, sons Jeremy Cash, Trevor Cash and Chase Cash of the home. One grand-daughter, Megan Abrams and husband John, and a great- grandson Caden Abrams of Oklahoma City. Sisters, Phyliss Mudd of Wagoner, Nedra and husband Gary Keel of Coweta , Karen Cash of Broken Arrow, a brother John and wife Jimmie Cash of Broken Arrow, adoptive brother/cousin Paul Allen Hughes of Oahu, Hawaii as well many nieces, nephews , cousins and friends. Sonny accepted the Lord as his savior at the Arrow Heights Baptist Church. He attended Faith Baptist and The Church at Battle Creek, both in Broken Arrow. Early in life, Sonny had a love for the outdoors and Rodeos. Sonny participated in Bareback Bronc and Bull Riding in his younger years. In later years, he participated in “Senior Pro” calf roping. Another hobby was raising horses and cattle on their farm in Coweta. He loved to fish and hunt with his boys and always looked forward to “Deer Camp” to spend time with family and friends. He also enjoyed quail hunting with his beloved dogs Queenie and Freckles. He was an avid bass and crappie fisherman up until recent years. He loved watching his boys and their friends on the motocross tracks around Oklahoma. Sonny served in the Military with the 486th Civil Affairs unit of the Army Reserve . Serving out his enlistment time with the Tulsa Unit. Sonny was a Plumbing Contractor and the owner of Broken Arrow Plumbing for over 35 years. Later he became a consultant with Michelle’s Company, C-IT-All Leak Detector and Plumbing. Sonny retired from the business in 2006. Sonny was well known for his corny jokes, silly sayings, and telling rodeo stories. Sonny will be truly missed by his family and many friends. Visitation will be held at Floral Haven Funeral Home of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on Sunday, February 8, 2015 from 12 pm to 8 pm with family to greet from 6 pm to 8 pm. Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow at 1:00 pm on Monday, February 9, 2015.
