I remember my Dad leading songs in church with a happy smile on his face. He led us in prayer before every meal. He loved God and taught Bible classes for many years. Dad was an excellent Bible teacher and speaker.
Dad was thoughtful and loved his family. He enjoyed writing and sharing about the people and events in his life. He took time to send us postcards and letters whenever he traveled. He wanted to stay connected and we did. He also enjoyed researching his family genealogoy and connected with unknown relatives especially in Maryland.
When I was 11, Dad bought me an old, upright piano so I could take lessons. The funny story is, when he was driving through the alley, he hit a pothole and the piano fell off the truck! It did a cartwheel and then somehow landed safely....upright! You should have seen the look on his face! We just laughed and I thought, "My dad has super powers!" I looked up to my Dad so much.
Dad always had an encouraging word at just the right time. I will miss you everyday, but I am truly comforted in knowing that you are in God’s Loving Care now. Thank you for being the most wonderful Father.
