Harold Yarnell's Obituary
Harold Gene Yarnell,78, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021, at his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born in Hays, Kansas on June 17, 1942 to Merel “Jack” and Eileen (Moore) Yarnell.
Harold lived in Sylvan Grove, Kansas until 1959 when the family moved to Lucas, . and he graduated from Lucas High School in 1960. Harold served two years in the Army. He then worked as a mechanic, service writer, and parts manager at the family business Yarnell Chevrolet in Lucas, Kansas until 1986. He pursued a trucking career, driving across the nation working for several trucking firms including CFI, and Sitton Motor Lines for many years. After briefly retiring, he continued full time employment driving trucks locally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, until 2020. He was a member of American Legion Post 0267. Harold had a “gift of gab” and enjoyed lengthy conversations.
Harold married Marlys Schneider on April 24, 1966. They later divorced.
He married Joyce Garrett on December 24, 1996 and she preceded him in death on November 4, 2020.
Survivors include his three children, Stacy (Evette) Yarnell, Newton, Kansas; Sharma (Jared) Keeler, Kansas City, Missouri; Russell (Christy) Yarnell, Topeka, Kansas; Joyce’s daughter, Kellie Rehman, Highpoint North Carolina; nine grandchildren, Amara, Henryk, and Emlyn Keeler; Orrie, Davis, and Alta Yarnell; Joshua (Laura) Rehman, Tulsa, Oklahoma; Daniel Rehman, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jasmine Husain, Tulsa, Oklahoma; great-grandson Adam Rehman; brother, Keith (Valerie Robinson) Yarnell, Sylvan Grove, Kansas; two sisters, Priscilla (Douglas) George, Topeka, Kansas; and Tamara (Rodney) Seirer, Lucas, Kansas.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Joyce.
Services and burial will be in Lucas, Kansas on June 26, 2021.
