Harry McKinley Franklin's Obituary
Harry McKinley Franklin, 93, passed away on January 21, 2017 in Owasso, Oklahoma. He was born March 26, 1923 in Van Buren, Arkansas to the late John William and Dosha Mae (Flanagan) Franklin. Harry served his country in both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He also served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher at the Airport Freewill Baptist Church for many years. “Faith, Family & Fishing” were the most beloved aspects of Harry’s life. He was a great man of faith: a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle and Friend. One of his most cherished memories is his trip on the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. on June 10, 2015. Harry was loved by all and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death his loving wife, Genevieve in 2012, two sisters, Edna Hopkins and Opal Lovett; two brothers, Preston Franklin and John William Franklin. Harry is survived by children, Shirley Franklin Whitaker & husband, Jack; Deborah Franklin Johnston & husband, Bill and Harry Dean Franklin & wife, Boni: three grandchildren, Jason Franklin & wife, Becky; Mandy Johnston, Kortney Brown & husband, Josh and Ali Johnston: Great Grandchildren, Brynlee Brown, Zerrik Brown, Bernadette Franklin, Voletta Franklin, Vanessa Johnston, Ayden Johnston and Noveah Johnston. The Family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, January 25, 2017, Floral Haven Funeral Home, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Thursday, January 26, 2017, at the Airport Freewill Baptist Church, 1190 North Mingo, Tulsa, Oklahoma
