Harry W. Fry's Obituary
Harry Wayne “Poppy” Fry, age 86, passed away on November 14, 2015 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Wayne was born on March 9, 1929 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to his parents Harry and Susie Fry. Wayne graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1947 where he was a member of the Wrestling Team, and the Swing and Marching Bands. On February 5, 1949, he married his beloved wife, Bernice Fry. Wayne worked for Southwestern Bell for 38 years. During those years he worked as a Lineman and retired as an Estimate Assigner. He was a hard working husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He was an early member of Eastside Christian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He served as elder and deacon, along with many committees and activities including Youth Leadership and other sponsored activities. In his early years he played on the Fast Pitch Softball team for the Tulsa World Carriers ’47 as their Pitcher. He played on several other teams including Eastside Christian Church and SWB. Everyone knew Wayne by his crappie and bass fishing abilities. He was truly a great fisherman. Wayne is survived by his wife of 66 years, Bernice; his son Mike Fry and wife Teri of Afton, Oklahoma, daughter Lynda Cundick and husband Doug of Phoenix, Arizona; grandchildren Samantha Frost and husband Buck, Jennifer Sams and husband Bobby, Michael Fry and wife Mindy, Katie Hinojosa and husband Isaac; great grandchildren Buck Frost II, Wyatt Frost, Tyler Sams, Barrett Fry and Mazie Hinojosa. Wayne was a great man of integrity and honesty. He was loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed, and his legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. We will miss you “Poppy”. Funeral Services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2015 in the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel followed by interment, Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Visitation, 6:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2015.
