Harvey Lee Brannon's Obituary
Harvey Lee Brannon died peacefully, September 10, 2015, in Broken Arrow, OK. He was born to Nathan Almarine Brannon and Nancy Elvington Brannon, October 6, 1918 in Stilwell, OK. He was nearly 97 years old. He grew up in Broken Arrow and finished the 11th grade at East Central High School because he went to work helping his father on farm. They were married nearly 71 years when she died in 2010. Harvey worked for Glencliff/Page Dairy Company in Tulsa until his early 40’s working his way up to assistant manager of home delivery. He then went to work for the US Postal Service until he retired at age 62. When offered a job to move inside and become a supervisor, he chose to keep delivering mail because he knew he would be healthier. He loved his family. He loved God and was an active member and leader (including boards, Sunday school teacher and treasurer) in a variety of Assemblies of God churches in Tulsa. The past 30 plus years he was a member of Woodlake Assembly of God. He never met a stranger and loved people. He had a lot of friends as well as extended family. He took up golf, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He was predeceased by his parents, ten siblings and his wife, Bernice. He is survived by his sons; Steve, and wife, Anita Brannon of Broken Arrow, OK; Rev. Cal and wife, Loma Brannon of Norman, OK; grandchildren; Derek Brannon, Lawton, OK, Rev. Darin, and wife, Deena Brannon of Monett, MO; five great grandchildren; Blake, Kirsti, Samuel, Alexis and Madissen; one great-great grandson, Harrison; and his brother-in-law, Kenneth R.
