Harvey Kenneth Edmunson's Obituary
Harvey K. Edmunson, age 86, of Tulsa, OK, has passed peacefully on to meet his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Harvey was born June 22, 1932, in Shawnee, OK and gained his reward on July 5, 2018, in Claremore, OK. Harvey graduated from Shawnee High School and went on to attend Freed-Hardeman University (Hendersonville, TN) and Oklahoma Baptist University (Shawnee, OK). After graduating with an accounting degree, Harvey served his country with the US Army during Korea, and had a distinguished professional career with Warren Petroleum (Tulsa, OK), Gulf Oil (Houston, TX), and Chevron Overseas Petroleum (San Ramon, CA).Harvey was a lifelong servant of God within the churches of Christ brotherhood, where he will be remembered as a teacher and scholar. Harvey served many congregations in the Tulsa, OK, Houston, TX, and San Francisco, CA, areas as a minister, deacon and elder, most recently serving with the 10th and Rockford fellowship in Tulsa, OK. His faith defined his life and served as a light to those around him, and his personal ministry reached many for Christ.Harvey is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty L. (Varney) Edmunson, formerly of Crum, WV, 3 children and 6 grandchildren; son Michael Scott Edmunson; son John Edmunson and his wife Jennifer, with their children Vivian Hoffmeister and her husband Jordan Hoffmeister, Jack Edmunson and William Edmunson; daughter Janice (Edmunson) McKean and her husband Byron McKean, with their children Emma Williams and her husband Alex Williams, Cara McKean, and Grant McKean.A Memorial Service will be held for Harvey Edmunson at the 10th and Rockford church of Christ on Tuesday, July 10th, at 11:00 am.Family will receive friends following the service.
