Harvey James Jones' Obituary
Harvey James Jones was born into a strong family of faith on January 18, 1953 in Colquitt, Georgia to the late Ulysses Jones, Sr. and Lossie Sanders Jones.Harvey accepted Christ at an early age and later recommitted his life to Christ in 1982.Excelling in both academics and sports, he was co-captain of the varsity football team and an honor student of the first graduating class of Ft. Pierce Central High School in 1971.An outstanding scholar- athlete, Harvey received his Bachelor of Science Degree and his Masters in Criminal Justice from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky where he played football and later became a graduate assistant.Harvey was united in marriage to Linda Holley on July 2, 1977 in Louisville, Kentucky. Three (3) children were blessed to this union – Alisha, Melissa and Samuel.Harvey moved to Oklahoma to coach football at University of Tulsa, under coach John Cooper. Later Harvey became a Drug and Alcohol Prevention Specialist for Operation Aware of Oklahoma. He was dedicated to helping youth make good life decisions.In 2003 Harvey joined Kingdom Alarms in the capacity of Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and the company’s all around “go to guy.”Upon retirement from Kingdom Alarms, Harvey enjoyed fishing with his granddaughters, gardening, listening to “old school” music, purchasing the latest gadgetry, and spending his quiet time on his porch.He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Linda; two daughters, Alisha Jones, MD of Bixby, Oklahoma, and Melissa Brumley (Chad) of Edmond, Oklahoma and one son, Samuel of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two granddaughters, Peyton Olivia, and Marley Grace; his mother, Lossie Sanders Jones of Ft. Pierce, Florida; his sister Mildred Jones Neal (Charles) of San Diego, California; two brothers, Pastor Frank Jones (Sally) and Ulysses Jones Jr. both of Ft. Pierce, Florida; an aunt, Daisy Sanders Brooks of Lauderhill, Florida and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.Viewing will be held Monday, November 28, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow.Wake Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2016 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow.Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at World Outreach Church in Tulsa with Pastor Jerry Spurrell officiating. Graveside Services will be held that afternoon at 1:00 p.m. at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow.
