Harvey Rodgers' Obituary
Harvey “Merlin” Rodgers, went into the arms of our Lord and Savior early in the morning on December 18,2020
Merlin's faith was made sight while he was asleep with the love of his life and his children were sleeping under his roof.
We are so thankful for the extra year God blessed us with.
Merlin was born June 18, 1938 in Lebanon, Indiana to Reverend Carl and Margaret (Harvey) Rodgers (deceased).
Merlin married the love of his life, Carol, in 1960 and began teaching math and science. He later became the Principal of Kremlin High School in Kremlin, Oklahoma. In 1969 Merlin moved his family overseas where he taught school for the Department of Defense DODDS program serving in England and West Germany. After becoming a grandpa, he returned to the US and continued to teach in Sanger and Iowa Park, Texas. He later moved to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma where he enjoyed spoiling his great-grand-children.
Merlin loved serving the Lord. He spent several summers on mission trips, Emmaus walks, serving in prison ministries. He was always ready to go duck hunting, camping, or watching a football game. Merlin had a special place in his heart for each of his grandchildren Andrea, Danielle, Matthew, Kaleb, Kolton and each of his great grandchildren Rylee, Allie, Elliot, Emmitt and Lane.
Merlin is survived by his wife Carol, his daughter Debbie Jensen and her husband Frank Jensen of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and son Merle Rodgers and his wife Diane Rodgers of Wichita Falls, Texas.
