Haywood Kelly was the most wonderful man I have ever known. I am so proud to say he is my grandfather. But he was much much more than that. He was more like a father to me, considering my own was in and out of my life. He always made us laugh. I miss his sense of humor so much. My sister and I would spend summers with grandma and grandpa while mom worked and always met up weekly growing up. I remember the time he let my sister and I shave his head. We weren’t even double digits yet. Such a wonderful memory. He never let us do it again. 😂 I have his navy picture tattooed on my arm so that when people ask, I can tell them all about my hero. That way his spirit lives on. Love and miss you, grandpa. 💗

I know that all of us who attended American Christian College, were supporters of Christian Crusade and read the Christian Crusade Weekly really appreciated Haywood Kelly!! He will be greatly missed. Praying for the family, I know how hard this can be, lost my mother last month…God bless you all. Thank God that he is now with his saviour Jesus Christ!

My mom and I, along with my hometown pastor and his wife, went on one of Haywood's Holy Land tours. What fun we all had! He was such a fun person and will be missed by all who knew him. Jeanette:Sorry to hear of Haywood's passing. I have many fond memories of my dealings with him throughout the 1960s and into the 1970s at Christian Crusade, including a number of indoor tennis matches with Haywood and David Nobel at ACC's gymnasium. Haywood was an ardent competitor in just about everything from a simple handshake (ouch!) to fast-pitch softball to tennis.Our prayers are with you all.Chris and Ann White

I met Haywood in 1969 at the tennis court at Hale High School. It was a pleasure discussing these matches and world events via telephone throughout the years. My wife Dorothy and I will miss the many telephone conversations we enjoyed with Haywood.Tom and dorothy

It was a pleasure to meet Mr. Kelly during his stay at a skilled nursing facility where I am a therapy assistant. He shared wonderful stories with me about his life and his love of the Lord. I praise God that Mr. Kelly knew Jesus as Lord and Savior and now is living the life that we who are left behind can only imagine. I pray that God will bless his family and friends and bring them peace at this time of sorrow. This pain will pass and you will be able to reflect on him someday with smiles instead of tears. Proverbs 3:5-6
