Hazel Lorene Anderson's Obituary
Hazel Lorene Anderson born October 25, 1926 in Fanshawe, Oklahoma passed away April 17, 2014 on Catoosa, Oklahoma. Hazel was the sixth child and only daughter of Ratio and Myrtle Branscum. Hazel’s early life was spent in the rural Southeastern Oklahoma community where she attended school and helped her parents with daily chores on the small family farm. Hazel played basketball on Fanshawe’s school team and attended church regularly. In 1941 Hazel married Melvin Robert Anderson. The family made several early moves, but eventually settled in Tulsa. Hazel was a devoted wife and homemaker, skillfully and lovingly raising five children. Hazel was a lifelong devout Christian whose selfless devotion to the family made her both the focal point of and guiding light for her extended family. She was the human embodiment of Christian love. “Mother” “Grandmother” ” Mawmaw”; all of her titles were richly deserved. Hazel is survived by her son Melvin and his wife Debbie Anderson; son Roger and his wife Betsy Anderson; son Mike and his wife Bobbi Anderson; daughter Regina and her husband Gary Strickland; daughter Kaye and her husband Roger Harmon; grandchildren Daniel and his wife Cathy Harmon, Don Harmon, Kimberly and her husband David Dunbar, Chad and his wife Brandy Strickland, Gary Robert Strickland and his partner Jimmy Benhoff, Matt and his wife Trista Anderson, Olivia Anderson, Savannah Anderson, Faith Anderson, Charles Anderson, Jean and her husband Jason McGuire; great-grandchildren Leesha, Justin, Haley, Emma, Hannah, Bailey, Brittany, Kelsey, Garett, Ty, Trey, Paige, Josie, Boone, Alicia, Kayla, Rachel and great-great grandchild Danielle, Kaden, Kawner. Hazel is preceded in passing by her husband Melvin Anderson and grandson Roger Allen Harmon Jr., Hazel will be greatly missed by family and friends.
