Hazel Mirzaian's Obituary
Hazel Marie Mirzaian was born June 21, 1947 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. She was the fifth child born to Hazel Alice (Jones) and Rudolph Carl Bengston. She resided in Oklahoma from birth to her death. She gave birth to her only child, Glenda, March 25, 1976. To so many she was known as Marie, but professionally and in later years mainly Hazel. Marie was in the graduating class of 1966 of Olive High School. She was in the healthcare field for most of her adult life. She, also, was a welder when she was employed at Halliburton in the late 70s and early 80s. When she returned to the healthcare field she was at, then, Osteopathic Hospital. She saw that Hospital change from Osteopathic to Tulsa Regional Medical to OSU Medical Center. During the time that hospital was named Tulsa Regional, she met a Pharmacist named Armen H. Mirzaian. They were married February 4, 1989. On August 2, 1995 while working Labor and Delivery, her only child gave birth to her only grandchild, Kyono. He is her pride and joy. In 1999 the hospital was sold to Hilcrest Medical Center. Some years later, she retired from Hilcrest Medical Center, for two weeks. She was not made to be retired; working was her life. She had a few patients from word of mouth before becoming employed by Senior Helpers. Hazel retired April 17, 2023 in the emergency room after her terminal diagnosis. Hazel Marie was one to go above and beyond for absolutely anyone, especially her family. Hazel Marie was the hardest working, most loving, follower of Christ. Hazel Marie Mirzaian entered eternal rest on August 25, 2023, at her daughter's home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma surrounded by family.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents Hazel and Rudy (RC) Bengston, husband, Armen Mirzaian, 2 brothers Nels O. Bengston and Earl L. Bengston, a niece, Rhonda Bengston and two nephews, Ronnie and Donnie Bengston. Including many other family members and friends. Marie is survived by her daughter Glenda Carson, grandson, Kyono Dake and his partner Madison Hurt, great granddaughters, Hadley and Mila Barnes, 2 sisters, Deloris and her husband Leon Blankenship, Joan Harness, 1 brother, Ralph Bengston and his wife Bea, along with sisters-in-laws, many nieces and nephews, and even more great and great-great nieces and nephews. Family is everything.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 2:00 PM at 12 W 38th St, Sand Springs, OK 74063 Church of Christ. Luncheon will be held at 12:30 PM before the service. Desserts and visitation to follow after the service
