Hazel Ree's Obituary
Hazel Irene (Plunkett) Ree, 88 passed from this life on February 2, 2021 in Coweta, Oklahoma. She was born to parents, Harley Herbert Plunkett and Georgia Agnes (Bennett) Plunkett In Fort Smith, Arkansas on June 26, 1932.
On June 20, 1952 she married Blondine Lester Ree in Pasadena, California. She worked several office jobs throughout her career before becoming co-owner of Ree’s Body Shop and retiring in 1994.
Hazel loved spending time with family and friends at the lake, where she and her husband eventually moved. Many nights were spent fishing on their pontoon boat tied up to the bridge pier, filling their ice chests with sand bass for future fish fries. She loved to crochet, knit, embroidery, cross-stitch, sew and quilt and did beautiful work in everything she did. Many people have been blessed with pieces of her handwork. She also loved reading, playing cards, and working jigsaw puzzles (staying up late trying to find one more piece before retiring for the night). Hazel also enjoyed playing bingo (she won many times) and going to the casino.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2012, her sister, Dorothy Dingman and adopted daughter, Dorothy Allen Laviness. She is survived by her children: Blondine L. Ree, Jr., Janice Ree, and Patricia (Trish) Meadows and husband, Randall. She is also survived by grandchildren: Christy Craig; Faith Hailey; Rachel Kauffman; Bailey and Savannah Meadows; Braden and Bailey Dawn Meadows; and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Pixie.
Visitation will be held from 3 pm - 6 pm on Monday, February 8 at Floral Haven Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, February 9 at the Floral Haven Chapel.
