Hazel Claudean Sloan's Obituary
Hazel Claudean Sloan, age 95, passed to heaven peacefully at 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma with her daughters Nancy Sloan Inglett and Claudia Sloan Miller by her side.
She was born to Claud C. Crow and Mallie (Nobles) Crow on Tuesday, March 15, 1927 in Tulsa, Oklahoma in a house behind the West Tulsa library.
Hazel is survived by two daughters, Nancy Inglett, Claudia Miller and husband, Jim, son Jimmy’s wife, Eve Sloan, three grandchildren, James Bruce Inglett and wife Amber, Jonathan Boyce Inglett and Jamie Lynn Mickle, 8 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She leaves unforgettable memories and stories of her life and will be missed by her loving family, devoted friends and individuals she met throughout her life.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Boyce Garland Sloan, son Jimmy Ray Sloan, parents Claud and Mallie Crow, brothers Cecil and Ray Crow and sister Stella Crow Davis.
Hazel grew up in Berryhill and West Tulsa and attended grade school in Berryhill and graduated from Daniel Webster High School in 1945. Hazel worked after high school delivering mail at the Mid Continent Refinery, now the Holly Corporation. She married Garland Sloan in 1946 and became a full-time homemaker. Her hobbies were fishing, bird watching, working in yard, woodworking, crafting, quilting and reading.
Celebration of Life Service will be 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 20 in the Chapel at Floral Haven with burial by her husband’s side. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
