A young couple raising two daughters or, were the daughters raising Helen and Joe? she was always the youngest mother at the PTA meetings. Helen always cared about her looks and appearance. There were always extra kids around. Everyone just got folded in. Somehow there was always enough food and enough beds to sleep in. Helen did not work out of the home until the girls were in high school. Shen then, began working with material, making draperies for J.C. Penneys and Ken Sasser Draperies. She was very talented and sewed most of the girls’ dresses, including prom dresses. One of her favorite scriptures, Psalm 30:4-5, “Sing to the Lord, you saints of his; praise his holy name. For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoice comes in the morning.” NIV She will be dearly missed by sister Margie Hembree; daughter Cindy Shook and husband Gary, daughter Sandy Blaho and husband, Tom; grandchildren Brian Blaho, Jamy Tucker, Christine Hughes; great-grandchildren Andrew, Grace, Josh, and Lilly Tucker and Xander and Zoe Hughes.
