Helen Louise Haney's Obituary
Helen Louise Rainwater (Haney) was born August 1,1927 in Tahlequah, to Newell and Nina Rainwater. She went to be with the Lord on December 3,2019, and to be re-united with her beloved husband Stanley of over 71 years as well as other loved ones who have gone on before.Helen grew up mostly on a farm near Westville, Oklahoma. She attended school in Westville, where she met her future husband Stan in the eighth grade when his family moved to a nearby farm. She and Stan graduated from Westville High School in the class of 1944. After graduation she attended classes at Northeastern State and joined the work force, while Stan spent two years in the Army Air Corps. After Stan was discharged and they found housing, they were married on April 28,1946 and moved to Tulsa. She continued working until they had Donna in 1951, followed by David in 1953. She returned to work in 1964 as a Secretary/receptionist until she and Stan retired in 1991.Throughout her life Helen was steadfast in her faith in God and service to others. She was a devoted and supportive daughter, then wife and mother, and one of her most important jobs later in life was as grandmother to J.D. and Reese. She and Stan were very active members of Will Rogers Methodist Church since 1954. She was involved in United Methodist Women, teaching and playing piano for Sunday School, working with the Youth Group, etc. She and Stan were volunteers for the “Meals on Wheels” organization and helped form the Eastside branch. where she served as Treasurer and also was Coordinator for the Will Rogers UMC part of “Meals on Wheels’ from its’ beginning.Helen was preceded in death by her husband, parents, twin brothers and sister. Survivors include daughter Donna Haney of Tulsa, son David, daughter-in-law Robin and Grandsons J.D. and Reese Haney, all of Spring, Texas, sister-in-law Marie Claxton, sister-in-law Margaret Rainwater, brother-in-law Herb Tays, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and other family members.Family will greet friends Monday, December 9th from 5 pm to 7 pm at Floral Haven Funeral Home.Services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, December 10th at the Will Rogers United Methodist Church in Tulsa.
