Helen Louise Kuhn's Obituary
Helen Louise Kuhn, 94 of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Sunday, January 9, 2022. She was born October 18, 1927, in Belleville, Kansas, to her parents, Willis Ray Hemphill and Norma Ruley Hemphill. On June 29th of 1947, she took the hand of Arthur Dale "Randy" Kuhn and they were married. Over the next 70 years, they built a family and shared in making many wonderful memories together before Arthur's passing in August of 2017.
Helen is survived by her two children, Randy Lee Kuhn and his wife Patricia of Overland Park, Kansas and Marcia Lawlis and her husband David of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Amy Schwartz and her husband Chad of Derby, Kansas, Ailie Kofoid and her husband Eric of Kansas City, Missouri, Ashley Tosh and her husband Bryan of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Jason Lawlis of Tulsa, Oklahoma; seven great-grandchildren, Trevor Schwartz, Andrew Kofoid, Aaron Kofoid, Brayden Tosh, Hank Tosh, Leon Tosh and Trinity Lawlis; many step grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many friends and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Norma Hemphill; her husband, Arthur Dale "Randy" Kuhn; two siblings, Warren Hemphill and Richard Hemphill.
Helen leaves a legacy behind that will be missed by all. Her journey through life exemplified she was a loving, kind, honest, and hardworking woman.
She worked many years in Salina, Kansas as Office Manager for Elmore’s Dairy and Sundries/ Elmore’s Shopping Center, in which she wore many hats. Her love was shown in her music as a pianist at church in her early life and also in the Randy Kuhn Orchestra in the 50’s and 60’s. After moving to Connecticut from Salina, and onto Virginia and Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, she also played the piano and organ for their retirement community church.
After leaving Hot Springs Village and moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma she and her late husband, Randy Kuhn, were members of Asbury United Methodist Church. Helen treasured her love for entertaining friends, golf, which she played many years, and her cat, Ginger. She also was involved in the 11th Airborne Chapter and assisted her late husband in the daily functions of his capacity as National Secretary of 11th Airborne of USA. She was active for many years representing the 11th Airborne in the annual Veterans Day Parade in Branson, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Oklahoma Chapter, 2448 E. 81st Street, Suite 3000, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74137.

A memorial service will be 3:00 PM, Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens
