Helen Norfleet's Obituary
Miss Helen Norfleet, 83, passed away on June 26, 2010 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Miss Norfleet was born on June 22, 1927 in Norfolk, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her father, Lancelot Alonzo Norfleet, her mother, Essie Strailman Norfleet, and her sister, Marian Norfleet Gregg. She is survived by her niece, Patricia Gregg Lacey of Tulsa, Oklahoma and her nephew, Jeffrey Norfleet Gregg of Tallahassee, Florida. Miss Norfleet was a 1945 graduate of Granby High School in Norfolk, Virginia and a 1949 graduate of Madison College in Harrisonburg, Virginia. She enjoyed a lengthy career as a corporate executive secretary with Smith Douglass, Borden, and Norfolk Shipbuilding & Drydock. A longtime Tidewater resident, Miss Norfleet lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma since 1996. Memorial contributions can be made to the Helen Norfleet Memorial Fund at the Smile Train, an international organization that provides cleft lip and cleft palate surgery, at 41 Madison Avenue, 28th Floor, New York, NY 10010 or www.smiletrain.org .
