Helen Plummer's Obituary
Helen Margaret Plummer, 95, longtime Tulsa resident, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at the Epworth Villa Retirement Community in Oklahoma City, Helen was born July 25, 1919, in Pittsburg, Kansas to Fred and Mae Lewis. She graduated from Lafayette High School in St. Joseph, Missouri, in 1939. In August of that same year, she married George Albert Plummer. Helen and George settled in Tulsa, where they raised two daughters and spent the next 60 years, before moving to Epworth Villa in 2002. Helen was a woman of many talents: she was a gifted seamstress, gardener, cook, and craft-maker. She loved nature, enjoyed spending time outdoors, and was an avid antique collector. Most of all, whe was a beloved mother and grandmother. Helen was preceded in death by George; her sister Belva Lewis; and brothers Paul, Hawley, and Jack. She is survived by daughter Sharry White and husband David of Estes Park, Colorado; daughter Tiana Douglas and husband Don, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; grandson, Eric White, of Washington, D.C. granddaughter Tiana White of Salt Lake City, Utah; friend Fern Ellis of Rogers of Arkansas; and a host of other friends in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, and beyond. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 6, 2015, at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Floral Haven Funeral Home, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
