Herman was born on June 20, 1909 in Richmond, Tennessee to James D. and Minnie Ola (Woodward) Stephens. He passed from this life at the age of 95 years on October 22, 2004 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Herman worked as a mechanic for American Airlines before retiring. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers: William Lewis, John Howell and James Daniel; 1 sister: Clara Jones; and the love of his life after 63 years of marriage: Melba Francis (Babe) Stephens.Survived By: his 2 sons: James Joel and his wife Lyn, Herman Boyd and his wife Sheri; 2 daughters: Ola Dare Jiles and her husband Raymond, Alice Riggs and her husband Roy; 8 grandchildren: James and Tonya Stephens, Kim and Ken Score, Bo Jiles, Lori and Larry Perkins, Sarah Riggs and Larry Riggs, Gary Geiger and Kelly Bradley, Cole and Angie Stephens, Kaycee and John Higgins; also survived by 18 great grandchildren.
