Hershel Leroy Wasson's Obituary
Hershel Leroy Wasson was born on November 19, 1917 in Mannford, Oklahoma and went to his heavenly home on April 9, 2005. He was a welder by trade and loved traveling, fishing, sports and especially horseracing. Hershel was very skillful at Dominoes and card games. He was proud of his Mannford Roots and was an eager storyteller of the early days in Mannford. Hershel’s wonderful sense of humor and friendly personality will be greatly missed by his many friends and relatives in the Mannford area, especially the staff and residents of Cimmarron Pointe Care Center, his home since 2001. The family wishes to thank Hershel’s extended family at Cimarron Pointe, Dr. Michael Eimen and Marlene Bass for their excellent medical care, and who with Sojourn Care of Tulsa, their compassionate hospice services will never be forgotten. The family will receive visitors from 6 – 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2005 at Floral Haven Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2005 at 3:00 P.M., Floral Haven Chapel in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens. Remembrances in Hershel’s memory may be made to Sojourn Care of Tulsa: 9910 E. 42nd Street South, Suite 101, Tulsa, OK. 74146 or to the American Cancer Society.Survived By: his daughter: Patricia Wasson Cobb of Tulsa; sons: Leroy Wasson and Gary Wasson of Tulsa and Hershel Lamont Spencer of Watauga, TX.; sons-in-law: Edward Raper of Sapulpa and Patrick Cobb of Tulsa; grandsons: Aaron Alex and Austin Cobb of Tulsa, and Jeffrey Oman of Nashville, TN. Hershel was preceded in death by his wife: Grace Wasson, daughter: Dee J. Raper, parents: Herbert Lee Wasson and Elsie Mae Colberg Wasson.
