Horace Freeman Dennis, known as “ Freeman” to friends and family, of Coweta, Oklahoma passed April 18, 2026 in Coweta, Oklahoma. Born April 7, 1942 in Valdosta, Georgia to Sherwood “Woody” Dennis and Clara Grace Freeman Dennis.
Freeman Dennis was a graduate of Emory University and a national merit scholar. Freeman retired from the USDA as a child nutrition specialist. Freeman spent his retirement pursuing his love of reading, and matching wits with Jeopardy contestants.
Freeman was proceeded in death by his parents. He is survived by his spouse Faye Dennis, his daughter, Melanie Lander and son-in-law Darren Lander, his sister Katherine DENNIS of Marietta, Georgia, and brother Charles Dennis of Valdosta, Georgia, and beloved pup Rosey. No services are planned at this time.
