Howard Masingale's Obituary
Howard Masingale, a resident of Owasso, passed away June 12, 2019 at the age of 92. He was born June 30, 1926 in Chuey, Oklahoma.Howard was a devoted husband, Father and Grandfather. He was widowed in 2013 by his wife Betty of 65 years. Howard worked in the aircraft industry most of his working career. He retired from American Airlines just under 30 years of service. Howard was a devout Christian, he lived his entire life for God, he enjoyed attending church, singing hymns and sang in the choir for years. He had a deep baritone voice that was distinctly heard above the others. He read and studied his bible daily, taught Sunday School and later became an ordained deacon. Howard was well versed in all scripture, he especially loved young people and leading them to Christ through salvation. Through his guidance and wise counsel, he ministered to people of all ages. Howard and Betty worked in the church nursery cleaning during the week, they both loved the babies. Staying in church throughout their marriage, they attended Sheridan Road Baptist Church, Bethel Baptist Church of Tulsa, First Baptist Church of Collinsville, Meadow View Baptist, Central Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Owasso. Howard and Betty ran a 12-year ministry for the residents at The Baptist Retirement Village in Owasso, OK. They are both well known in the community and were seen frequently walking the aisles of Lowe’s or Home Depot getting in their steps!Howard enjoyed fishing, crafting robots out of pop cans, carving and making walking canes. He played the harmonica, banjo and mandolin. He loved listening to music, especially Christian, country, piano and bagpipes as well as live performances and watching music specials on tv. He had a corny sense of humor and was often telling jokes right up to the end. Howard really liked family gathering, dinners, fellowship with church family and spending time with his grandchildren.He was preceded in deathy by his mother, Julia Ann Phillips, wife, Betty Masingale, brothers, Max, Chester, Shannon Masingale and Robert “Bob Phillips and sisters, Nadine Cryer and Evadee ColeSurvivors include his children, Steve Masingale and wife, Peggy of Sperry, Ken Masingale and wife, Pam of Owasso and Michelle Robinson of Broken Arrow; grandchildren, Angela Tipton and husband Andrew;Rachel Masingale, Amber Masingale,,Brandon Masingale,,Cameron Masingale, Brianna Masingale, Brian Masingale, Kristin Edwards, Austin Robinson; great grandchildren, Aubrey Moore, Mikayla Moore, Christianna Orwig and Aleah Marshall; great-great grandchildren, Andrea Gregory, Connor Scott and Annabelle Scott.Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, Garden of Faith.A reception will follow at Floral Haven’s Family Center from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
