Howard James McKnight, beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend; born Monday, August 27, 1923 in Non, Oklahoma to his loving parents, James & Hester McKnight; went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 17, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma with his loving family by his side. Howard has been a resident of the Tulsa area for many years as a motel owner and operator with his loving and devoted wife by his side. He enjoyed many things in his free time such as, traveling, watching the Gaithers and Americas Funniest Home Videos. What Howard truly was passionate about was his family that he loved so dearly. Fond memories will always be cherished of Howard especially his sweet tooth and love of Homemade Vanilla, Blue Bell ice cream and his root beer floats with Barq’s Root Beer; or how he always had a unique phrase or quote to share with everyone; he will be deeply missed by all those that had their lives touched by him. Howard is preceded in death by his loving parents, James & Hester McKnight; his devoted and beloved wife of sixty-two years, Joanna Hope McKnight; his dearly loved daughter, Alma Louise Ernest; his precious grandson, Keith Robbins. Howard is survived by his three loving children, William Howard McKnight & wife Roxanne; James Edward McKnight & wife Linda and Paul Wayne McKnight & wife Debbie; his eight beloved grandchildren, James Franklin Robbins, David McKnight & wife Katie, Jonathan McKnight, Daniel McKnight & wife Chelsey, Ainsley Rusch & husband Brayden, Krista Dempsey & husband Matthew, Stephanie McKnight and Zane McKnight; his four precious great grandchildren, Chloe Robbins, Ella McKnight, Brody McKnight, MacKenzie Jane McKnight and numerous other loving family members and friends. A visitation will be held Thursday, September 22, 2016 from 5:00PM till 8:00PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Friday, September 23, 2016 at 10:00AM at Floral Haven Funeral Home in the Chapel. A graveside service will be held Friday, September 23, 2016 at 2:00PM at Holdenville Cemetery, 13th Ave; Holdenville, Oklahoma 74848. Services have been entrusted to Floral Haven Funeral Home, Floral Shop, Crematory & Memorial Gardens, 6500 S 129th E Ave; Broken Arrow, Oklahoma 74012.
