Hugh “Cotton” Ellis Stephens, 86, of Tulsa, left this life June 1, 2005. “Cotton”, one of 13 children, was born November 20, 1918 in Yonkers, Oklahoma to Emery and Maude (Wilson) Stephens. “Cotton” owned Hugh Stephens Construction Company for many years and was a member of the Home Builders Association.He was preceded in death by a grandson, Clayton James Stephens and great-grandson Brent Michael Morrow..Graveside service was held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 3, 2005, Vernon Cemetery, Coweta, OK.Survived By: his loving wife, Edna of Tulsa; children Sue Massey of Tulsa, Bonnie Gary and her husband Charles of Big Cabin, OK and Ray Stephens and his wife Kathy of Neosho, MO; grandchildren, Rhonda McCoy and her husband Mike of Glenpool, OK, Stacy Hartzenbuehler and her husband Jack of Adair, OK, Trisha Hoag of Pryor, OK, Clayton Massey and his wife Jeanie of Tyler, TX, Tera Ingram and her husband Kenny of Inola, OK, Kam Edwards and her husband Matthew of Kansas, OK, Khristi Humphrey and her husband Jerry of Neosho, MO, Mika Jack and his wife Stacy of Whitesboro, TX; great-grandchildren, Amie, Eric, Keith and Luke McCoy, Katey Hartzenbuehler, Blane Hoag, Daylen, Nolen and Tanner Massey, Taylor and Tyler Ingram, Kaylyn Edwards, Kolten and Jade Humphrey, Mikal and Blake Jack; brother, Leon Stephens of Chouteau, OK; sisters, Lara Welch of Locust Grove, OK, Viola Harper of Vinita, OK and Dorothy Stout of Broken Arrow, OK.
