Hurshell "Pete" Julius Baker's Obituary
H.J. (Pete) Baker went to be with Jesus on August 22, 2010. He left behind his wife, Mary Jane of 56 years and his four daughters: Brenda Brands, husband Jerry, Glenda Redburn, husband Doug, Debra Sue Gougler, husband Larry and Carol West, husband Michael. Pete and Mary Jane has 12 grandchildren and 3 great grand daughters. Pete will join in heaven his parents, Daniel and Agnes Baker with four siblings: Betty Morgan, JC, Dean, and Jack Baker. His sisters Shirley Ware and Ramona Tracey will miss him here on earth. Pete was born in Tulsa, OK on May 10, 1932 and retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone as a communication technician. He served his country in the Navy, stationed in Hawaii, playing as a left-handed pitcher and first baseman and on the ship the O’Brien. While here on this earth, he witnessed to many people while playing ball, riding a horse down the trail or doing his favorite thing, talking. We will miss you, see you in heaven, Honey, Daddy, Grandpa, and Papa.
