Irene Mae Bobo's Obituary
Irene Mae Bobo was born in Kansas in 1932. She became a young Navy wife when she married Russell David Janke. Their union created four sons: Larry, Steve, Darrell and Ken. Raising those four boys – she called them her “Four Aces” – became her world and her joy. She tirelessly and sacrificially cared for and loved them.Several years after the dissolution of her first marriage, she married Milton Walcher and moved from Kansas to Oklahoma. There she was an active Boy Scout mom, and loved fishing and camping, and filled any spare time creating the most beautiful and playful crafts. In 1993, Milton passed away from lung cancer. In 1997 she married Ed Bobo, with whom she walked through life until he passed in 2002. During that season, she defeated colon cancer and even had quadruple bypass surgery. Her happiest moments became when all of her adult sons were together with her, and when she got to spoil – spend time with – her many grand and great grandkids. Her tenacity and strength with which she approached life was only eclipsed by the way that she fiercely loved – both her own family and those with whom her path crossed. She is survived by her sons: Larry, Steve, Darrell and Ken; and her grandkids: David, Kevin, Daniel and Lindsey, Madison, Josiah, Aaron and Alison; and her great grandkids: Ellington, Christian, Lillian, Chloe, Daniel, William, Angel, Serenity, and Tyson. Funeral Service will be Monday, April 27th, 2015-12:30 pm -Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
