Irene L. Nelson's Obituary
Irene L. Nelson, age 92, passed away on December 15, 2015 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Irene was born on April 15, 1923 in Atoka, Oklahoma to her parents Mayfield and Margaret Fannin. She received her general education from Atoka Public Schools before attending cosmetology school. After her graduation, she began her career as a beautician. She retired in November of 2015 after 72 years of service. Irene married Jesse Gerald Nelson Jr. on June 22, 1947. She enjoyed gardening. Irene is survived by her daughter Wanette Pauly, her son-in-law John Pauly, her son Jesse G. Nelson, III, her son Gregory P. Nelson, her granddaughter Sarah Bay and husband Gabor Bay, her granddaughter Katelyn Wetzel, her great granddaughter Stella Bay, and her great grandson Mason Belmont. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Boston Avenue United Methodist Church.Services will be held at Boston Avenue United Methodist Church of Tulsa, Oklahoma on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 1:00 pm with graveside services held prior the same day at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma at 10:00 am.
