Iris Alberta Grayson's Obituary
Iris Alberta Grayson went to be with the Lord on June 11th, 2024 at the age of 89, after a full life of taking care of her family, friends, and everyone around her. She was the wife and best friend of Robert Grayson from November 2nd, 1957 until his passing on June 9th, 2012.
Born May 14th, 1935 in Zearing, Iowa, she was the daughter of Arthur and Fern Hobson, and sister to Lauren Hobson.
Iris was a homemaker, while also volunteering for her children’s elementary school. She was a long time member of St. Marks United Methodist Church, and spent much of her time volunteering with them and offering support in any way she could to the church and its congregation. She loved to help people, as she also volunteered with Meals on Wheels, delivering food to the elderly and those who couldn’t get out. In the same vain, Iris was an avid member of Knitten Kittens, a group of women who would regularly knit scarves, hats, and hope blossoms for those in need.
Iris was preceded in death by her husband Robert Grayson, her parents Arthur and Fern Hobson, brother Lauren Hobson, and son in law Dennis McClary.
She is survived by her daughter Laurie McClary, son Richard Grayson, grandchildren Jason and wife Reta and Kaitlyn McClary, and great grandchild Dean Ross.
