Jack Leroy Chamberlain's Obituary
Jack was born in Tulsa Oklahoma on February 5, 1940 and went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 18th, 2023, at the age of 83,
Jack was married to the love of his life, Joyce Shelton Chamberlain for 61 years. They have 3 daughters, Kathy Hipp of Adair, Karen Hammock of Tulsa, and Kristi Jobe of Tulsa. His girls were his world and he was theirs.
Jack was the oldest of 4 siblings. Jack’s siblings are Jerry Chamberlain of Tyler Texas, Clinton Chamberlain of Tyler Texas, and Malinda Smith of Sand Springs, Oklahoma. His siblings meant the world to him and even with the miles between them, they managed to enjoy lots of great times together throughout the years.
Jack proudly served in the Air National Guard. His professional career provided him with opportunities to travel the world and make lifelong friendships. His work in the oil field took him to Lafayette, Louisiana where he and Joyce made some of the best friends of their lives. A couple of those dear friends, Nettie and Danny Chauvin, proceeded him in death and we know they were waiting on him to arrive in Heaven with a good steak and a new guitar.
Jack lived in Broken Arrow for the last 34 years of his life. He and Joyce loved living in Broken Arrow, which quickly became the home they knew they would never move from. They spent nearly every weekend of the last few years relaxing at their lake home on Ft. Gibson. They passed their love of lake life on to their daughters.
Throughout their 61 years together, Jack and Joyce loved to travel the world. From the states, to Europe and Asia, from train trips, to cruises, their memories and photos could fill many books. They also passed their love of travel onto their daughters.
While Jack was a strong man throughout his life, he was also a very compassionate, kind-hearted, caring man. He took care of all his girls and all he ever wanted was to be with Joyce, his girls, his family and his friends. He was a protector, a mentor, and caring brother, a loving father and mostly an amazing husband to Joyce who was truly the only person on earth he wanted to be with 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. She was his everything.
Jack was one in a million. All of his family, especially Joyce and their girls will miss Jack terribly. But they will keep his memory alive for the rest of their lives.
Jack leaves behind his bride Joyce, his 3 daughters, Kathy, Karen, and Kristi, all of his grandchildren, Amie, Christian, Garrett, Adam, Katie, Allie, Evan, and Emma and several great grandchildren, his siblings, Jerry, Clinton, Malinda, his cousins, and many friends. The world just got a little smaller and Heaven just gained one of the sweetest angels ever.
