Jack Harvey Draper's Obituary
Jack Harvey Draper, 93, passed peacefully from this life on May 11, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on August 24, 1932, in Tulsa to Bill Jack Draper and Rosie Viola (Morgan) Draper, and from the very beginning, he brought a quiet strength and extraordinary kindness into the world—qualities that would define the remarkable life he lived.
Jack was truly one of the kindest and most special human beings one could ever hope to know. He had a rare and beautiful gift for making people feel seen, valued, and cared for. Whether through his warm, genuine smile, a thoughtful word, or simply his calming presence, Jack left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His gentle spirit, humility, and sincere interest in others made him deeply loved and impossible to forget.
Throughout his career as a director of lease records at Kerr-McGee, Jack earned the utmost respect of colleagues and friends. His work was marked by diligence, integrity, and quiet excellence—traits that reflected his character as much as his professionalism.
Above all else, Jack’s greatest joy in life was his family. He treasured every moment spent with them and took deep pride in the lives and love they shared. His heart was also filled with a lifelong love of music, especially country and gospel. Of all the concerts he attended, he always said that seeing Vince Gill perform was the very best. His favorite song, George Strait’s “Love Is Everything,” could well have been the anthem of his life, as he lived that truth each day.
Jack also found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved playing cards and eating good food. He especially delighted in his wife Hazel’s cooking—her hot chicken salad and famous bundt cake were among his very favorites and often praised with a smile. And when Hazel wasn’t cooking, tacos were always a welcome choice.
Though he lived a long and full life, Jack’s passing leaves a space that cannot be filled. His unwavering love, kindness, and steady presence will be deeply and forever missed. Yet his legacy lives on—in the countless lives he touched, the memories he created, and the enduring love he gave so freely.
Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Hazel Draper; his parents; his son, Bill Draper; and his brother, David Draper.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Cindy Draper and Sherry Morris and her husband Gene Morris; his son, Jeff Draper and his wife Jennifer; his sisters, Christine Whalen and Linda Ingmire; his brother, Frank Draper and his wife Donna; his grandchildren, Kristi Jones, Michelle Dalrymple, Mandy Morris, Jordan Draper, Grant Draper, Reagan Draper, Morgan Draper, and Jack Draper; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Carolyn Draper; and many other cherished family members and dear friends.
