Jack Hunter Jenkins' Obituary
Jack “Hunter” Jenkins was 30 years old when he passed away in Oklahoma City on December 31st, 2025 at Integris Baptist Hospital.
He was born on April 1st, 1995 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His parents are Jack “Jay” Herbert Jenkins Jr. and Karla Gay Kemper Jenkins. His parents decided on the middle and nickname Hunter because there were too many Jacks already in the family and it sounded a lot better than the old-fashioned name, Herbert. His dad still wanted him to have the family initials JHJ. He graduated from Bixby Public Schools. After graduation, Hunter primarily spent his time going to Pathways Adult Living Center. He lived his whole life in South Tulsa between houses in Broken Arrow and Bixby. Hunter loved to play video games, go hiking, listen to music, watch movies and travel all around with his parents. Growing up he competed for several years at the Special Olympics in Stillwater. He loved to swim, play basketball and t-ball and go bowling. He also loved hanging out with his friend’s group that met every Monday to go and do fun things.
Preceding Hunter in death was his grandmother Loana Wilson, great grandmothers Jewel Sanders, Pearl Wilson and Joyce Quick, and cousins Austin Sanders and Leland Sanders, and his dogs Penny and Cassie. Hunter was survived by his Grandparents, Jack and Wanda Jenkins, Jack Wilson, Larry and Karen Kemper, his sisters Karlee Davis and Chanley Jenkins, his brother-in-laws John Davis and Dakota Brewster, uncles Chris Wilson and Jeff Jenkins, aunt Kathy Steiger-Wilson and cousins, Terry, Evan and Dede Sanders, Jeffrey and Riley Jenkins, Michael, Crystal, Kendra, Carson and Kali Kemper and Sophia Wilson and dogs Archie and Emma.
Memorial service will be held at the Floral Haven Chapel in Broken Arrow. Chris Wilson will be conducting the ceremony. There will be a reception following the service for friends and family. There will be a public dedication of the Hunter Jenkins Memorial on Sunday, January 11th from 2pm to 5pm at the Jenkins & Kemper, CPAs office located at 116 West Breckenridge in Bixby.
In lieu of flowers, Jay and Karla request donations be made to Pathways Adult Living Center. We want to especially recognize and thank all the many families in the Tulsa and surrounding area with family members who have special needs. The support provided to the Jenkins family from the Down Syndrome Association of Tulsa, Little Light House, New Leaf, Sooner Care and Pathways Adult Living Center was vital to make our stay in the community so special. Please come and celebrate our son’s life on Saturday. The Jenkins love getting reacquainted with old friends and as Hunter would have said, “I’m back!!”
