Jack Lee's Obituary
Jack G. Lee was born on March 11, 1932 to Ethel Georgia Lee and MJ Lee. Jack left this world to be with his Lord on Friday, May 24, 2019. Jack graduated from Hartshorne High School in 1949 and left the next day for a job in Western Oklahoma. In 1953 Jack entered the United States Army. He received his basic training in 1954 in Augusta, Georgia where he was trained in cryptology and received “top secret” clearance and then taught that same class for six months. He embarked to Pusan, Korea and arrived as the cease-fire was being negotiated. Jack held the position of Trick Chief of the Pusan communication center during that most critical time. He was discharged from active duty in 1955 after declining the offer of Warrant Officer of Communications but remained in the reserves for another eight years.After his discharge, Jack, along with his brothers Wayne and Bob, and sister, Doris started and were personally involved in every aspect of M.J. Lee Construction for 43 years, from 1956 until selling to Manhattan Construction in 1999.M.J. Lee had a wonderful reputation in the construction industry. Their first job was to build a commercial poultry facility and with hard work, determination and pride, they went on to become one of the premier bridge building companies in the State of Oklahoma. Some of their accomplishments were the bridges over Arkansas River at 51st Street and the 71st bridge. Many bridges in downtown Tulsa, I-244, the Creek Turnpike, the highway 66 twin bridges and overhead railroad trusses over the port of Catoosa navigational channel, as well as numerous bridges all over the state. They not only built amazing bridges but also had an asphalt plant and rock crusher in Bartlesville, OK and donated a 20 acre property to the City of Bartlesville (known as M.J. Lee Park) for the Bartlesville soccer team. Jack met his wife Patricia Elaine in 1971 and they have been inseparable ever since.Jack had numerous accomplishments over his lifetime such as serving as President AGC of America in 1999, and secretary and treasurer prior to that. The company won the Pharaoh Award for bridges of the highest quality in the State of Oklahoma. He was well respected by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation and Oklahoma Turnpike Authority. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner for 50 years and attended Catoosa Hills Christian in Catoosa.Jack was a kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather who was generous to a fault. He enjoyed work and traveling, but his responsibility and love for his family was his life. He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Elaine”; daughter, Debbie and husband Roger Rose; son, Danny and wife Pamella Lee; grandchildren, Andrew Fate, Marina Lee, Jackson Lee, Aulora Lee; great grandchildre,n Nathan Fate; niece, Donna and husband Freddy Webb; and numerous cousins and extended family members. He was preceded in death by one son, Larry Brandenburg; parents; two brothers, Bobby and Wayne; and sister, Doris Manschreck.He will be more than missed by the many friends and family that knew and loved him. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 30 from 5 pm – 7pm.Services will take place at 3 pm on Friday, May 31 at the Floral Haven Chapel.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children donate.lovetotherescue.org
