Jackie Nolen's Obituary
Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Jackulin “Jackie” L. (Vickery) Nolen, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 2, 2024. She was 75.
Jackie was born to parents, Robert and Margaret Vickery, in Sperry, Okla., and graduated from Jenks High School.
She married Danny Nolen in 1973 and a year later went to work for Kilsby-Roberts (Earle M. Jorgensen Co.) as a sales representative. She retired in 1995 so she could travel with friends and spend time with family. Jackie shared a close relationship with granddaughters, Jade and Kelsey.
Jackie loved to have fun and she lived life to its fullest, spending countless hours at local golf courses, Grand Lake, and Tulsa Raceway Park. Her sister, Linda, likes to say, “We had more fun than the law would allow.”
She was a natural-born caregiver and loved selflessly, spending her later years caring for her stepsister, Angela, and her stepmother, Jean, and her husband, John. She also was a personal caretaker to many older individuals, couples, and their families, running personal errands, cooking, and maintaining their daily needs.
Throughout Jackie’s life she enjoyed golfing, fishing, and birdwatching. If you went to her house, you would find multiple bird feeders, especially hummingbird feeders. And you might also find a pellet gun she used to scare the squirrels away from the feeders.
Jackie is survived by her sons, Mike (Susie) Nolen and Gary Nolen, and stepchildren, James Nolen, and Dana Nolen; grandchildren: Jade Nolen, Kelsey Nolen (fiancé Nik Andrews), Brinson Nolen, Kyra Nolen, and Christian Nolen; great grandchildren: Devin Nolen, Blakely Ellard, and Brinlee Nolen; sisters: Bobbie Cable, Linda (Deral) Palmer, and Gloria (Sam) Hartgrave, and many nieces and nephews.
Jackie was preceded in death by her father Robert Vickery; stepmother, Wilma Jean Vickery Simmer; John Simmer; stepsister, Angela Simmer; half-sister, Patti Collins, brother-in-law, Jim Cable; and grandparents Lloyd and Mable Vickery.
Jackie loved the Lord and made lasting, impactful impressions on many people in her life, being credited most recently with saving a life – figuratively speaking. She was loved by all who knew her, and she will be remembered forever as a sweetheart.
In remembrance of Jackie, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to Grace Hospice, in recognition of the volunteers that provided her with the most outstanding, heartfelt care in her last months on Earth.
Celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at 12:30 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel
