Jackson Alfred Dean's Obituary
Jackson Alfred Dean, born October 4, 1917 in Pratt, Kansas passed away at home in his sleep on May 27, 2013. After graduating Kansas University with an Architectural Engineering degree, he moved to Tulsa where he worked with Nelson Electric Manufacturing Company and later Centrifugal Castings. He was active at First Presbyterian Church, helped to establish the Helping Hands program and delivered Meals on Wheels. Jackson served as the President of the Oklahoma Junior Chamber of Commerce in 1947, Chairman of the American Foundrymen’s Society in 1962, and was active for many years in the US Power Squadron. He loved his family, playing card games, horse racing, boating, and listening to music of the Big Band era. Jackson is survived by: Vivian, his lovely wife of 70 years; sons, Robert and Steven; daughter, Susan; 7 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Friday, May 31st, at 2 pm at Floral Haven Cemetery. Family welcomes all friends to join them at the graveside and the reception to follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
