Jacquelyn Adell Dean's Obituary
Jacquelyn Adell Dean (Jackie), treasured wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother passed away on May 14, 2024, in her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Born in Quanah, Texas on November 17, 1929 to Thomas James and Trudy Edna Joyner, Jackie moved to Oklahoma with her family during childhood and graduated from Achille High School in 1947.
While attending college at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, she met a precocious baseball player from Milburn by the name of Raymond (Red) Dean. She and Red were married in 1953 and were united until his death in 2009.
Jackie was a teacher early in their marriage before becoming a homemaker when Red left the Army. After spending several years in the Texas panhandle, they returned to Oklahoma and settled in Coleman.
She frequently opened her home to family, friends, and anyone else that needed a good meal or a warm bed. She remained an active member of her church for as long as her mobility allowed. Jackie always had a heart for giving to causes like the local homeless shelter, the Salvation Army, and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Jackie is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Sonny Joyner, and her husband, Red. She is survived by her son and his wife, Earnie and Peggy Dean of Calera, OK; her daughter Donna Douglas of Broken Arrow, OK; her grandchildren Brandy Holleyman, TJ White, Tre’ White, Trey Daniel, and Aaron Dean; her great-grandchildren Kaden White, Cole White, Drew Holleyman, Emma Daniel, Jhett Daniel, Ava Perez, Delilah Dean, and Marshal Dean; and great-great-grandchild Sadie Kate White.
