Wilson-Freeman, Jamal Ray's Obituary
On July 23, 1981, Tulsa, Oklahoma, a baby boy was born to Darlene Wilson and Array Freeman. They named him Jamal.
From an early age, Jamal was full of life and energy. As the eldest of his siblings, He held a special place within his family. Jamal attended school in Boynton, Oklahoma, where his love for sports and his deep love for family became two of his greatest strengths.
Jamal was proud Boynton Cardinal. He took great pride in his State Championship ring and showing it off always brought a smile to his face. It also opened the door for memories, laughter, and stories that family and friends will forever cherish.
Jamal would later relocate to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he met his companion Marlyshia “Marly” Hill. Together, they were blessed with two beautiful children: his son, Jamarian, and his daughter, MadiLynn Wilson-Freeman. His children were his pride and joy. He cherished the love of his children, who were constantly showering him with hugs and prayers for his heart.
There was nothing Jamal would not do for his children. From taking fun-filled family vacations to the beach, attending school events, cheering at his son’s football game, and so much more, you could always count on the father in Jamal to show up for his family, Known affectionately as "Biddy" by his daughter MadiLynn, Jamal carried fatherhood with love, pride, and devotion.
Jamal was also adventurous when it came to work. From his love of real estate to being part of the remodeling of River Spirit Casino, He always kept his hands in the game. He was determined, hardworking, and willing to take on new opportunities wherever life led him.
Jamal would soon face health issues, but he did not allow them to keep him from being there for his children. He remained present, loving, and committed to his family until his untimely passing on June 20, 2026. To know Jamal was to love Jamal, and his family will forever cherish his memory.
Jamal was precede in death by his mother, Darlene Wilson; his father, Array Freeman; and both his maternal and paternal grandparents and great-grandparents.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his lifelong sweetheart, Marlyshia “Marly” Hill of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his son, Jamarian Wilson-Freeman; his daughter, MadiLynn Wilson-Freeman, Both of Tulsa, OK, two brothers, Tristan Wilson-Crisp and Ajari Wilson-Crisp, bother of Tulsa, OK; one sister Aubri Jade Branham and her husband, Shemaiah, of Tulsa, OK; his aunts, Rose M. Smith of Tulsa, OK, Barbara A. Smith of McKinney, TX, Eloise Greer of Boynton, OK, Shelia R. Mosley and her husband Glenn, of Raymore, MO, and Kristi Edwards of Tulsa; his uncle, Stephen Wilson and his wife Marie, of Oktaha, OK; one great-uncle, Isaiah Hill of Midwest City, OK; his special cousin and brother, Lawrence Greer III, affectionately known as “J.R.”, Tulsa, OK along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, July 3, 2026, at St. John Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
