James William Brackin's Obituary
James William Brackin was born October 23, 1931 in Oak Forest, Lee County, Arkansas to Mary Ethel Lillian Wilkerson Brackin and William Ernest Brackin, Mr. Brackin attended elementary school in Marianna, Arkansas, and graduated Barton, Arkansas High School in 1950.ãâ?¬â?¬ He graduated University Of Arkansas at Monticello, previously Arkansas A andãâ?¬â?¬M. ãâ?¬â?¬While in college he briefly played AAA semipro baseball on a farm team for the Saint Louis Cardinals. After college he entered the United States Army stationed in Versailles, France , where he was a company clerk.ãâ?¬â?¬ He was also a member of the Spedial Services playing baseball at the Army bases throughout Europe. Mr. Brackin worked as comptroller for Mohawk Tire and Rubber Company in West Helena, Arkansas,ãâ?¬â?¬for fourteen years. During this time he also served as persident of the Jaycees.ãâ?¬â?¬ He then worked for AAA Automobile Club in Memphis, Jackson,Tennessee, and Tulsa, Oklahoma. After retiring from AAA he opened his own business, Tow Dolly Enterprises, selling tow dollies and wrecker supplies. He subsequently included an associated business, United States Winch, repairing and selling winches and winch parts worldwide.. In three years time he became one of Ramsey Winches’s top ten distributers. After retirement from his business he helped his wife in her business, Something New, traveling the country in their motor home, selling at trade shows. His parents and brother, Eldon Brackin, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Lucy Allena Horton Brackin from Memphis, Tennessee, his twin sons, Mark Galen Brackin of San Francisco, and Rase Kevin Brackin of Tulsa, and sister, Mildred Brackin (Louis) of Texas. Mr. Brackin will be buried near his brother in the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, Arkansas. His family takes great pride in his accomplishments and are comforted by his faithfulness and sweet, gentle nature.ãâ?¬â?¬ He will be deeply missed.
